Are curio cabinets the ones with shelves and glass doors? And what is meant by 'accent cabinet'?
I'm looking for one of those things that are like bookshelves but are made so you can put knick-knacks and other things on them. I want the kind with glass doors. Is that what curio cabinet means? I've also read the term accent cabinet. Is that the same?

Where can I find the inserts of a curio cabinet?
I was cleaning and accidentally nudged the glass curio cabinet and all the shelves just fell to the bottom and broke. Where could i find JUST the glass shelves for a curio cabinet that fits in the corner? The shelves are kind of like triangles put the point of it is flat like a square.

Just about any glass company can cut new shelves for you. You need to give them some dimensions. They can cut just about any size and grind or even polish the edges for you.
If you don't feel comfortable using dimensions then take some cardboard and make a template.
You'll be supprised how cheap shelves like this can be.

Is it unsafe to have a lit candle in a curio cabinet?
My husband and I bought a new entertainment wall and on each end there are curio cabinets. Well just about every decoration I find has to do with candles. Is it unsafe to have a lit candle in a curio cabinet? I'm a candle nut, and although it doesn't seem like the best idea I thought I would see if anyone else has ever had candles in theirs. They're glass shelves so I wouldn't think it would be terrible... but I'm still hesitant.

Heat rises, so if the place you are thinking of putting the candles has a top or shelf above it made from wood it could scorch the wood or catch it on fire.

Can you add a locking mechanism to a curio cabinet?
I have a curio cabinet that doesn't have a locking door. I was wondering if anyone knows if a locksmith can add an antique looking keyhole with a locking mechanism to it? Thanks so much!!

I have no clue how to display it .... I have three shelves in my Curio cabinet... Any advice?

Plates standing on the rims, in the back. Cups and saucers in the front. Other pieces random, on the other shelves.
