What is the best collection of World War II DVD?
I'm trying to find a very good collection of World War II DVD launched throughout the war on both sides of the world from beginning to end. Too many too choose from so just wandering if anyone has good views or bad in some DVD collections.
If you are looking for a documentary series then the best by far is "The World at War" which was produced in 1970 by Thames Television. It looks at all points of conflict, civil and military, the European Commission for the Pacific theater, battles on land, sea and air, the rise Nazism and Imperial Japan, and the aftermath of the Holocaust. It uses interviews with participants in both the senior allies and the Nazis as well as the soldiers accompanied by regular images of the Cinémathèque. Each episode is narrated by Laurence Olivier. The DVD boxed set contains 11 discs with 26 episodes, each an hour long and 8 special presentations. I highly recommend it.
