** Does anyone can direct to a site about ancient China?

I recently acquired some Haviland beautiful porcelain that has been in our family at least a century. I would like to know how much these pieces are worth insurance reasons. I have looked on e-bay to see how many people are selling parts and I can not find nothing approaching the pattern of my plates. It is the mark of Haviland in the back "Haviland France" and a notation was made for "Charles Van Heusen Co. "The shape of the plates is the style known as" Ranson ", and what I've read online so far, different clients asking for a design specific to be painted in China. If someone could direct me to a site or a book on this research, I would be very grateful. Thanks!
