Subject: Yahoo! Warning! Verify Your Account Now To Avoid It Closed ( VX2G99AAJ )?
I received the following email today. I believe it is fraud. If so, it would also pose a security risk. It looks to me like a scam. Can you please inform me whether this is a legitimate email from Yahoo! or a scam?
Many Thanks,
Charlie Delgado

Yahoo will be giving this car away as part of a Labor Day Yahoo! Mobile Customer Ride Sweepstakes. The promotion, which runs from September 2, thru September 30th, can be entered via cell phone (if you are 16 years or older). The promotion is supposed to bring attention to Yahoo products and services like news, sports, e-mail, instant messenger, games, the weather and others available through major wireless carriers, including Verizon.
During this time the car will be on display at the Santa Monica Pier here in California. In addition to the work Hot Rods & Custom Stuff has done, Yahoo will be adding the following goodies: a Kenwood stereo, a DVD navigation system, a seven-inch touch-screen DVD receiver, a Verizon cellular phone (Verizon is the wireless sponsor for this promo), a Sony Playstation with wireless remote consoles, and, last but not least, ,an i-Pod hookup. So don't wait. Run to the Santa Monica Pier and see this car for yourself and enter the contest.

Chris asks…
Has anyone noticed whether the "new" google has de-listed any of your regular sites?
as I've just been notified that a popular programming forum has been pushed back into the back woods of listings because many of the Questions / Answers are not being asked / replied in proper English or are gibberish in nature. I won't mention which site but I assume that many forums have the same problem with their own members and guests.
Or, is it that sponsors are getting a better placement in the Search pages and the Search Engines are being manipulated (blackmailed) into providing better listings through endorsements? Perhaps having "Google Ads" would give a forum or site a better listing?

RI Realtor has questions for other Realtors.?
I have been working for 6 months for a RI Exit Realtor. Now I have been working part time and want to be doing this full time by the time my daughter goes to school which is in 2 years. My issue is I have a sponsor but he has done nothing with me. No open houses, no going with him to signing na da. I have asked if I could but he always says he has no listings. I had found my own client who turned out he wanted to buy a house in another state. My broker gave me the number of a mortgage person who was so unreliable and never returned the calls to the 2nd client I got myself. I had to as over and over to put my picture up on the website. I had given it to them day one and now 6 months later it's finally there. Now today I am in the office and I over heard another person on the phone saying he has 20 pending sales and listing etc. how back in november he has 45. maybe he is just trying to sound good to whomever on the phone but How can this guy have so much and my sponsor have nothing. Exit offers online training but it would still be nice to shadow someone as they are working so I can see how things are done. I feel like they are willing to take my monthly desk fee but I am getting nothing in return. Even if the phone rings while I am in the office I never get any calls sent to me they always go to whatever full time person is there. I have spent so much money out of pocket. Is this how it is in all exit offices or is it just mine. They just don't seem to give a damn. I am going a booth an a community even and had to ask few times to borrow a banner. I had end of year assessment and the broker said I am doing so well. I feel lost.. Maybe I am full of it and this just how the business works.

Ling answers:
It's time to move your license. It doesn't help that you are part time, but many of the national franchise agencies offer training. You need to be concentrating acquiring listings through farming. Tha's where you start.

Sandy asks…
Shouldn't conservatives be more concerned about government surveillance?
http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-general/20090420/Dressing.Room.Spying/
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Two FBI workers are accused of using surveillance equipment to spy on teenage girls as they undressed and tried on prom gowns at a charity event at a West Virginia mall.
The FBI employees have been charged with conspiracy and committing criminal invasion of privacy. They were working in an FBI satellite control room at the mall when they positioned a camera on temporary changing rooms and zoomed in for at least 90 minutes on girls dressing for the Cinderella Project fashion show, Marion County Prosecutor Pat Wilson said Monday.
Gary Sutton Jr., 40, of New Milton and Charles Hommema of Buckhannon have been charged with the misdemeanors and face fines and up to a year in jail on each charge if convicted. Sutton has been released on bond, Wilson said, and Hommema is to be arraigned later this week. Wilson did not know Hommema's age.
The workers were described in a complaint as "police officers," but prosecutors did not say whether the men were agents or describe what kind of work they did.
The Cinderella Project at the Middletown Mall in the north-central West Virginia town of Fairmont drew hundreds of girls from 10 high schools in five counties. Organizer Cynthia Woodyard said volunteers, donors and participants are angry.
"I can't even begin to put words around what I consider an unspeakable act, the misuse of surveillance by a branch of our government in a place we felt so secure," she said. "Never in a million years would we have thought something like this would happen. We're in shock."
Hospice Care Corp. was sponsoring the event, offering prom dresses, shoes and accessories to girls who could not otherwise afford them. Dresses sold for as little as $5.
Woodyard, director of marketing for Hospice Care, said this year's event was the biggest in the decade the organization has been holding it, with more than 800 dresses on display.
The prosecutor would not say how authorities found out about the accusations.
It was not immediately clear if the accused men had attorneys. Messages left at phone listings for Gary Sutton were not immediately returned; there was no listing for Hommema.
The FBI issued a brief statement, but refused to answer questions. The statement said the Office of Inspector General was investigating.
"The FBI is committed to the timely and full resolution of this matter, but must remain sensitive to the privacy concerns of any potential victims and their families," the statement said.

Ling answers:
Is this a real question? That's like saying if a cop killed an innocent person with his gun, shouldn''t we be concerned about cops with guns? Where do conservatives even come into the equation? The misuse of technology isn't something anyone supports but it's something that will happen as long as we live,

Mandy asks…
What do I ask a Real Estate expert?
I have a meeting with a real estate company ( First Team) that is extremely popular here in Orange, ca. I want to take classes, and so they set me up to talk to someone about what happens in the business, before I go to their seminar.
The lady who set me up, told me to ask any questions, but I have NO IDEA what to ask?
She also said that the meeting would "decide" if they wanted to sponsor me?
I didn't know they could do this, but I planned on working with their company anyways, because they have a lot of the listings here, and they are not one of the bigger businesses, which I think would be expensive to work for....
Any suggestions?

Ling answers:
What you have to understand going into this is it is YOUR business. While you have to work under a Broker, they are only there to support and supervise you. You have to prospect daily for business, you have to be able to take being rejected or told no. You have to have some level of income to pay for all the business needs you'll have.
As for asking questions, "What is the hardest thing they had to do to prospect for business?", How long did it take to have a viable business making a regular income that would support their lifestyle?" What is an average months costs to operate? Just a few questions. I hope I have helped. Some folks think I'm too direct or negative. I just want to relay the facts as I know them. I've been a Realtor for 20 yrs. Licensed in 3 states. I know a little about the business. Take care!
