What is a safe neighborhood between Old Dominion University and the navy base?

I will be attending Old Dominion in the fall to be near my husband, so we need to find an apartment between the base and school. My husband is new to the area, so we both know very little about it. Any advice as to where is safe and convenient? Thanks!

I would find a place in the Ghent neighborhood, if you guys were planning on staying in Norfolk only. I'ts close to the University, bases, and downtown.
There are a lot of little cities in the area that people commute to Norfolk from, but I wouldn't recommend it because the tunnels and traffic will drive you crazy.

There was a plot by Old Dominion Power to put power lines through Fauquier Co, Virginia, what is the status?

The power company in Northern Virginia is Old Dominion. They were trying to put in power lines that led fromt the power plants (that use high sulfur content coal) in Ohio to New York City. Their logic was a false assertation that it was needed when other alternatives were available.

Ling answers:

Powerlines don't give off smoke, so I don't know why you are so upset. If you are complaining about the scenery, by having these lines go around the county would just ruin more scenery in other places.

Should I go to Minnesota State Moorhead University or Old Dominion University?

My major is criminal justice and I will be transferring from a community college. Minnesota State is a smaller school of about 8,000 students and it's in northern Minnesota. Old Dominion has about 20,000 students and it's in southern VA near the coast.
I'm not looking for links to websites. If you have any experiences at either school or the towns they are in please share, thank you.

I know people from both places. Go to ODU. It seems like it has more to offer.

Trying to find Old Dominion Peanut Co. Products Please Help?

I enjoy the Peanut Bars made by Old Dominion Peanut Co. but I live in Kansas City and can not find the product. Any live in Kansas know where to find them or does any one know where I can find them Online? The Old Dominion website is only set up to accomodate retail, wholesale & distributor buyers.

Try Giant Eagles website. They are a grocery store in the area I live... Not sure if they are in your area, but - they have a "special orders" section of the site where you can buy hard to find items, and even request a specific item, and have it shipped directly to you!

Just go to http://www.gianteagle.com click on "special order" near the bottom under on line offerings, and click start shopping.

is old dominion university a fun school?

im torn between going there or west virginia university. i know wvu is definitely fun but i think it might be too overwhelming the amount of people that go there. if someone can guarantee me that old dominion has a good amount of parties and is fun then ill prob go there.
