Lizzie asks…
How much is Antique OldCourt Ware Staffordshire pottery worth ?
I Have 2 gold/green pieces a vase and jug with louis xv french style ART work on them both , they are both stamped on the bottom with the oldCourt Ware Staffordshire England mark . There is also D.H III marked on the bottom too . Any info on history and value would be much appreciated Thank you xox .

Ling answers:
It depends on how old it is and the condition. You need to check out a couple of guides to see where your pieces fit. There are seven pieces listed on ebay right now, and they seem to range in value from about $5 to $30. Here is a site that explains a little about the pottery and the second link shows the current ebay listings.

Pottery Makers Marks (Antique) - Can anyone identify this: B then four numbers?
I have just bought a black vase with diagonal ragged stripes of colour on it. Underneath it there is a makers mark which is the letter B followed by four numbers.
Can anyone identify this please?

Potter Makers Mark (antique) - Help with identification?
I have a very old pottery vase. It seems to have several marks on the base. One appears to be stamped and might be BASL, BASI or even GIASI. Hand engraved are the numbers 416 and a mark of a cross inside a circle. Also there is a mark in the glaze that may be L7.
If anyone has any information I would appreciate it!

Ling answers:
Are you a member of the eBay community?
Take a picture of the vase and the bottom, showing the mark, then post it to the Pottery and Glass board thread.
There's lots of very knowledgeable folk who are willing to share.
Be sure to put "Pottery" in the subject line.
I've often got helpful answers very quickly.
Here's hoping that this helps.

David asks…
I have a question about a vintage/antique vase please?
It was my grandmother's vase. I don't know how old it is, but I remember it being in her house even when I was very little, and I am 45 now. The company name on the bottom is Yankoware, and it was made in Japan. I have searched the Internet for several years now, and every time I do, I just get links to places selling pottery. Not one site had a history of the company, or any information. Thanks in advance if you can help.
I was not asking for appraisal information. I was asking if anyone here knew the possible history. As I stated earlier, I have researched the internet many, many times, only to find sales. If you didn't know, the question could have remained unanswered. So many people here find it necessary to be rude. Sad!

Ling answers:
This is not an antiquities site, or a place to determine the value of your heirloom. This is a site for questions about sculpture. Go to the library and ask your reference librarian to help you find books about Asian pottery or Japanese made pottery. If it says "made in occupied Japan" it was made between WWII and the 50s or 60s. Have you searched under "Yankoware" on net? Alternatively, take your piece to an antique appraiser who specializes in Japanese ceramicware. Also, check e-bay.
Good luck.
