Handle them carefully.

Chris asks…
I need to sell an antique stamp collection at an online auction?
"Sandafair" stamp auction site doesn't seem to tell you how to "submit" a lot and there E-mail is a failure. Is there a better site for very fine antique stamps in the U.S. other than E bay???!! Duz anybody here collect stamps???
Stamps are from ALL countries mint 1830's to 1940's

Ling answers:
Before you auction off, find out the value of your stamps. Go to an antiques appraiser that specializes in stamps and coins. If you can't find one, go to an antiques dealer and ask them to recommend one.

Donald asks…
What is a good, cheap, gun to start my antique collection, and where should I buy it?
From ww2 and before!

Start with going to the BATFE website and getting a collectors license (section 03). Its $30 and allows you to buy curios and relics directly from the importers.

Do anyone knw a good antique collection store?

Ling answers:
My dad and his family have been in the antique business for many years. If you look on youtube and type in ferguson antiques, you will find short videos of my dad appraising a variety of antiques from watches, jewelry, clocks, coins, art, etc.

Sandra asks…
where can I find the value of my antique star war collection?
I have a large selection of the figures.collected in the 80s for sale!

Ling answers:
Best thing is to search auction sites for the going rates. There may be Star Wars fan sites that deal with this issue too.
Oh BTW...Star Wars collectables aren't classified as antiques. They are old enough and toys normally only stay collectables

I have inherited 2 chinese vases. They were bought in China and I am in South Africa. I would like to get an appraisal on them for insurance purposes. I dont know who I can trust here so would you be able to help me with somebody that can get me a value from a picture. Gothenberg wants $20- donation for that which is very expensive for us in South Africa. Maybe you can give me a e-mail address who would be able to assist me.
Thank you
